Inyo County, California, has introduced new online systems to enhance public access to records and improve the bidding process for vendors. The county’s partnership with OpenGov and CivicPlus underpins its drive to modernize operations and document management, improving public service transparency and business interactions.
The county has launched OpenGov’s eProcurement, a system for public-sector budgeting, procurement, and financial management, and CivicPlus’ NextRequest, a tool for managing public records requests. Scott Marcellin, Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors, stated, “These tools reflect the Board of Supervisors’ commitment to transparency, efficiency, and accessibility. By striving to embrace digital solutions, we’re making it easier for residents and vendors to interact with the County in a faster, more user-friendly way.”
Marcellin emphasized that these digital tools would not replace existing in-person or phone services at the Bishop and Independence campuses. The aim is to facilitate easier access for those preferring online interactions. The NextRequest system allows residents to submit and track public records requests, fostering government transparency and accountability. It automates and streamlines the response process, helping staff to comply with the California Public Records Act.
The NextRequest system is accessible at https://inyocountyca.nextrequest.com/. For assistance via phone, individuals can contact Assistant Clerk of the Board/Public Relations Liaison Darcy Israel at (760) 878-0373 or disrael@inyocounty.us.
The eProcurement Portal signifies a shift from the traditional paper-based bidding to a streamlined online platform, enhancing efficiency for vendors. Vendors can explore current opportunities and register for future solicitations via the county’s website.
