The Inyo County Board of Supervisors has announced the opening of the 2026 Community Project Sponsorship Program (CPSP) competitive grant cycle, making $40,000 available to support events and projects within the county. Applications will be accepted starting October 10, with a submission deadline set for December 10, 2025.

The CPSP grants are intended for local non-profit organizations and other entities planning events or projects in Inyo County during 2026. Each applicant can request up to $7,500. The application process and related documents, including guidelines and review criteria, are available online at https://inyocountyvisitor.com/cpsp/. While hard copy submissions are allowed, the county prefers applicants use the online form.

The program aims to assist local organizations in promoting activities that attract visitors and improve cultural and recreational opportunities for residents. Previous CPSP grants have supported events such as Inyo County Search and Rescue’s Range of Light fundraising trail races, Friends of the Fair’s Friday Night Markets, the Lone Pine Film History Museum’s Concert in the Rocks, and Vole Fest 2025 in Tecopa.

Non-profit applicants must be in good standing with both the Internal Revenue Service and California Franchise Tax Board. Insurance documentation may be required depending on the event, and funding will not be awarded until all conditions are met. Entities with outstanding property tax payments to Inyo County are not eligible for funding.

In addition to the competitive grant pool, CPSP provides nearly $50,000 in line-item grants for recurring community events like Mule Days and the Wild Wild West Marathon, as well as $32,500 for local fishing derbies. The Board of Supervisors also distributes almost $25,000 through County Marketing Grants and $122,000 via the Grants-in-Support program.

Completed applications must be received by the Office of the County Administrator by 5 p.m. on December 10. Late submissions will not be considered. All applications will be reviewed for eligibility before being evaluated by an independent Review Panel.
