The Inyo County Treasurer-Tax Collector, Christie Martindale, has issued a reminder that unsecured property taxes for the 2025-2026 fiscal year are due by August 31, 2025. Payments received or postmarked after this date will be considered delinquent and must include penalties to be accepted.

According to the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office, only payments with an August 31, 2025 postmark will be counted as on time. Any payments submitted or mailed after the deadline without the required penalties will not be processed.

Residents can pay their unsecured property taxes online through the county’s website at https://www.inyocounty.us/services/treasurer-tax-collector or send their payment by mail to the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office at P.O. Drawer O.

Christie Martindale stated: “A friendly reminder from the Inyo County Treasurer-Tax Collector, Christie Martindale, that the 25/26 Unsecured property taxes are due on August 31, 2025. Your payment will be delinquent if not paid on or before August 31, 2025, and a postmark only of August 31, 2025 will be accepted as a timely payment. Payments presented or postmarked after August 31, 2025 must include the penalties or they will be rejected.”

Unsecured property taxes typically apply to items such as business equipment and boats rather than real estate.
