New and returning members of the Inyo County Board of Supervisors were sworn into office on January 6 at the historic Inyo County Courthouse. The ceremony took place before the year’s first board meeting.
Inyo County Superior Court Judge Stephen M. Place administered the oaths to returning District 2 Supervisor Jeff Griffiths, returning District 4 Supervisor Jennifer Roeser, and new District 5 Supervisor Will Wadelton. The event was attended by county officials, staff, friends, family, and other well-wishers.
Will Wadelton takes over from Matt Kingsley, who retired after serving 12 years on the Board. Wadelton emerged victorious among five candidates in the November election. He resides in Lone Pine.
Jennifer Roeser and Jeff Griffiths both retained their positions after winning against their challengers in the March Primary. Roeser is entering her second term while Griffiths begins his fourth term. Roeser lives in Independence and Griffiths is a resident of Bishop.
The newly sworn-in supervisors will join Trina Orrill and Scott Marcellin for their first board meeting of the year on January 7 at 9 a.m. The agenda includes selecting a Chair and Vice Chair for 2025, discussing committee assignments for board members, a presentation on the Diaz Lake Welcoming and Beautification Project, and an update on regional broadband activities.
