BISHOP CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Coronavirus Special Message

Bishop Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec 4.

Inyo County is currently the RED TIER (substantial) of California’s Coronavirus Restriction System.

  • Hotels and Lodging – Open with modifications; fitness centers reduced to 10% capacity, and indoor pools closed
  • Campgrounds and RV Parks – Open with modifications.
  • Restaurants – Open at 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer, with modifications
  • Bars – Closed. Bars serving food may operate and serve alcohol following restaurant guidelines
  • Personal Care Services – Open with Modifications
  • Family Entertainment Centers – Open for outdoor activities only with modifications; indoor activities (e.g. bowling alleys) are closed
  • Gyms and Fitness Centers – Reduced to 10% capacity with modifications
  • Movie Theaters –reduced to 25% capacity or 100 people whichever is fewer, with modifications
  • All Retail – Reduced to 50% indoor capacity
  • Places of Worship –Reduced to 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer, with modifications
  • Museums, Zoos and Aquariums – Reduced to 25% capacity with modifications
  • Malls, Destination Centers and Swap Meets – Reduced to 50% capacity with modifications, common areas closed and reduced capacity for food courts consistent with restaurant
  • Offices – Non-critical infrastructure offices moved to remote
  • Schools-remain open subject to local determination
On December 3rd, Governor Newsom announced a Regional Stay Home Order that may soon change the status of Inyo County’s businesses. If a region’s available hospital ICU capacity dips below 15%, the Regional Stay at Home Order will be triggered for the entire region (Inyo and Mono Counties are in the Southern California Region). Once, triggered additional restrictions and closures will be in effect within 24 hours. The Governor predicts our region may reach this threshold as early as Saturday, December 5th.

Under the Regional Stay Home Order, the following restrictions will be implemented:

All individuals living in the Region shall stay home or at their place of residence except as necessary to conduct activities associated with the operation, maintenance, or usage of critical infrastructure, 1 as required by law, or as specifically permitted in this order

  • Gathering with People Outside of Your Own Household Prohibited
  • Hotels and Lodging – Open for essential travel only
  • Campgrounds and RV Parks – Closed
  • Restaurants – Open for take-out and delivery only
  • Bars, Wineries, Breweries – Closed
  • Personal Care Services, Hair & Nail Salons, Barbershops – Closed
  • Family Entertainment Centers – Open for outdoor activities only with modifications
  • Gyms and Fitness Centers – Open for outdoor activities only with modifications
  • Movie Theaters – Closed
  • All Retail – Reduced to 20% indoor capacity, no eating or drinking inside
  • Places of Worship – Open for outdoor activities only with modifications
  • Museums, Zoos and Aquariums – Closed
  • Offices – Non-critical infrastructure offices moved to remote
  • Schools-remain open subject to local determination
